Entries

The Entries section presents individual narratives from the Prison Genius Archive. Each entry offers a structured, first-person account of lived experience related to incarceration and its broader impact.

Together, these entries allow readers to engage with stories one at a time, encouraging thoughtful reading, reflection, and understanding rather than passive consumption.

About an Entry

Each archive entry follows a consistent structure designed to preserve context, clarity, and integrity while respecting the contributor’s voice.

An individual entry may include:

  • Artifact images, when available and appropriate
  • Contextual and narrative description provided by the contributor
  • Reflective commentary on personal significance or meaning
  • Tags and categories to support organization and discovery
  • Anonymized attribution, when requested
  • Editorial notes, limited to clarity, safety, and consent

This structure allows stories to remain personal while also supporting long-term archival use.

Purpose of the Entries Collection

Entries are preserved as individual records within a growing archive. Over time, they are intended to support reflection, education, and public understanding by offering firsthand perspectives that are often absent from formal records or public discussion.

For Contributors

Individuals with lived experience who wish to contribute are encouraged to review the entry format before submitting a story.
